Print is Dead

Enfuse Promotional Brochure

I have heard this more times than I care to count. I’ve never believed print would become redundant and aside from Covid -induced paper shortages worldwide doing its very best to push its extinction along, it remains and is even having what some might consider a comeback.

Let me tell you why

Digital advertising is huge, however more and more people are turning away from social media which is a core market for that advertising. You aren’t getting quite the same bang for your buck as you once did thanks to all the new privacy protections introduced (with good reason I might add).

I mean a flashy animation on the gram will gain attention for 30 seconds but can you keep that and take it away? feel it in your hands? admire a sexy foil finish? no, no you can’t and that my friends can be your point of difference.

Print items have a perceived higher value to a consumer because it’s physical and they can take a piece of your story with them. If you have a higher-end brand then investing in print (with a purpose) can be a great investment.

Chances are if you do have a higher-end product you have already taken that on board when it comes to your packaging. You simply can’t package a high-end product in a slap-up package because it won’t align with your brand messaging and the consumer will (regardless if the product is up to expectation) feel pretty ripped off when a pricey product turns up in a budget piece of packaging. Sad but true, it’s just our nature.

It’s the same with all things printed, if you produce with purpose you can’t go too far wrong. Print is a speciality area of mine (10+ years designing solely for print space before a pivot to digital for 4 years) and I know it pretty well.

If you’re lacking ideas for a print campaign, or need your packaging design elevated to match your brand aspirations use the contact form on the book a call page and let’s dive in. It’s not scary I promise!
