The Original Logo - DIY approach

Nestled in the heart of Christchurch lies The Little Hire Company, a brand that has evolved from its humble beginnings as Oh Buttercup Events in 2011. Founded by Tom and Fallon Broadley, this journey began as a passion project, igniting their love for event styling and creating unforgettable experiences. Fast forward to today, The Little Hire Company has become a cornerstone of the South Island event hire and styling scene, renowned for exceeding expectations and leaving a lasting impression at every occasion.

Specialising in everything from intimate weddings to larger-than-life corporate events and festivals, The Little Hire Company prides itself on their ability to transform spaces into works of art, meticulously curated to reflect the unique visions of their clients. Led creatively by Fallon on the styling front and Tom on the logistical side, The Little Hire Company has grown immensely over the years, recently relocating to a larger warehouse and showroom space in early 2024 to accommodate their expanding range and demand for their services. With a focus on elevating every event to new heights, The Little Hire Company has become synonymous with style and unparalleled craftsmanship in the world of event styling.

The Catalyst for the Rebrand

In the wake of the unprecedented challenges posed by the Covid-19 pandemic, The Little Hire Company made a strategic decision to bolster its hire side of the business, offering higher-end pieces to cater more to the higher end events market. However, as the business continued to evolve, it became apparent that the existing branding no longer aligned with the direction The Little Hire Company was heading in. With a desire to separate themselves from competitors, appeal to their intended audience, and set the stage for future growth in the areas they had specified, The Little Hire Company embarked on a mission to revitalise their brand identity.

The Process
The journey with The Little Hire Company began with a comprehensive assessment of their current brand, competitor landscape, business goals, and target market. Armed with these insights, we embarked on a strategic approach to crafting a bespoke brand identity package that would breathe new life into The Little Hire Company's image. Through meticulous research and creative brainstorming sessions, we developed new branding concepts that spoke directly to the refined direction the business was taking.

Utilising a responsive logo system, we ensured that every aspect of the brand was future-proofed, with variations suitable for all platforms, from social media to print. We revisited the colour palettes, opting for a softer yet elevated feel that would set The Little Hire Company apart from competitors and resonate with their high-end event audience. Throughout the process, we maintained certain consistencies with the previous branding to ensure a smooth transition and preserve existing brand awareness, while also introducing fresh elements to signify the evolution of the brand.

The Outcome
The culmination of our collaboration with The Little Hire Company resulted in a stunning new brand identity that perfectly envisions their ethos of style and sophistication. From a redesigned logo to a refined colour palette, every element of the brand reflects the elegance and attention to detail that defines The Little Hire Company's approach to event styling. The responsive logo system ensures versatility across all platforms, while the cohesive look and feel of the brand elevate their presence in the market.

The 2017 Rebrand
